Fireworks at Imber and Twickenham
Posted: 9th November 2008
I've finally recovered from a heavy drinking session enough to write coherent sentences. Its getting worse I tell you!
I enjoyed a fantastic firework display at Imber Court on Wednesday (sorry, no photos) along with good burgers and beer. Unfortunately Katie couldn't make it in time which was a real pity - I think she likes them more than I do. I suggested taking her to the Stockholm Water Festival next year but she insisted that wasn't the point - she wanted them there and then. Never mind.
However she did manage to get to Twickenham with me and we both (mostly) managed to stay dry and watch England beat the Pacific Islanders 39 - 13. This was Martin Johnson's first match as England coach so we shouldn't expect too much but we were treated to moments of pure genius rugby. He's not one for sexy rugby but there were moments of pure wonder, especially from the back line. Annoyingly my camera ran out of batteries before the match even started so no photos.
The lack of photos was probably a good thing however as I got absolutely trolleyed at the ICYE gig we attended afterwards. Some very good acts in quite a cutesy bar but I paid the price the following day - still feeling a bit groggy today to be honest!
